GTA YouTuber TGG Talks Rockstar North Visit And GTA 6 Preview: 'A Lot More' Is Still Under Wraps

Rockstar Games apparently has far more Grand Theft Auto VI information ready to spill than its upcoming Extended Look presentation suggests. One of the biggest GTA-focused creators on YouTube has now confirmed that he visited Rockstar North in Edinburgh last month and came away with information about GTA 6 that has remained under embargo ever since.

The creator is TGG, also known as The Gaming Gorilla, whose YouTube channel currently sits at roughly 2.13 million subscribers and more than 637 million views. His channel has spent years covering GTA Online, Rockstar Games and, increasingly, every scrap of legitimate GTA 6 information that escapes Rockstar’s unusually tight communication strategy.

On August 26, TGG revealed that Rockstar invited him to its Edinburgh studio during July 2026. According to the creator, he learned “exclusive information about GTA 6” during the visit and will disclose what he knows after Rockstar’s Extended Look airs on August 27.

That makes Thursday considerably more interesting than it already was.

TGG says there is much more about GTA 6 we haven’t seen

TGG has kept quiet about his Rockstar North trip for roughly a month and a half.

In a separate video discussing the visit, he indicated that the amount of information he received is substantial, adding that there is “a lot more” to GTA 6 than the public currently knows and suggesting his coverage may require more than one video.

Rockstar itself gave his announcement a rather Rockstar-like acknowledgment. Instead of issuing some painfully sterilized corporate sentence about “select media partners,” the company’s official account responded to TGG with a gorilla emoji and a heart (see below). The gorilla is closely associated with TGG’s online branding.

An emoji reply is hardly an SEC filing, but in this case the meaning isn’t particularly difficult to decode.

Reports about a private GTA 6 media event had circulated before TGG spoke publicly. Earlier reporting claimed Rockstar held a preview session during July 2026, inviting media outlets and content creators to see the game ahead of the August presentation. TGG’s disclosure gives those earlier reports considerably more credibility.

Did TGG actually play GTA 6?

This is where expectations need a bit of (adult!) supervision.

There is currently no solid evidence that TGG or other attendees were allowed to freely play GTA 6.

Reports surrounding the July event describe it as a hands-off presentation. Attendees were reportedly shown gameplay and given information by Rockstar rather than handed a controller and allowed to wander through Leonida.

That distinction matters.

A hands-off preview can still reveal plenty about gameplay systems, missions, characters, vehicles, the open world and Rockstar’s design philosophy. It does not provide the same firsthand information as actually testing controls, performance, physics or mission structure.

The internet will undoubtedly turn every sentence from tomorrow’s coverage into archaeological evidence within approximately eleven seconds, so separating what creators saw, what Rockstar told them, and what they personally played will be worth watching.

GTA 6’s Extended Look arrives August 27

TGG’s information is tied directly to Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, which premieres on Netflix on Thursday, August 27.

Rockstar officially lists the Netflix presentation for 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT. The same program will arrive on Rockstar’s official YouTube channel and GTA 6 website at 9 p.m. ET, six hours after the Netflix debut.

TGG has indicated that he can begin discussing his Rockstar North visit once the Extended Look is released, meaning additional creator and press coverage could begin appearing shortly after the Netflix presentation.

Other outlets have similarly reported that preview impressions are expected around the same window.

Rockstar has not publicly detailed exactly what information attendees received, leaving several obvious questions unanswered.

Did Rockstar show additional gameplay that will not appear during the Netflix presentation? Were creators given deeper explanations of GTA 6’s open world? Did they learn about activities, police systems, NPC behavior, combat, vehicles or multiplayer plans?

Nobody outside that preview group can answer those questions reliably yet.

Twenty-four hours of patience may be cheaper than another 900-frame trailer analysis.

Rockstar is preparing a huge GTA 6 information dump

The timing is particularly interesting because Rockstar is currently dealing with a wave of unauthorized GTA 6 gameplay leaks.

The company addressed those leaks on August 26, describing the situation as heartbreaking for the development team and stating that GTA 6 is “nearly there.” Rockstar also urged players to wait for the intended experience rather than consume leaked story material ahead of launch.

The Extended Look and creator previews therefore arrive at an extremely convenient moment.

Rather than allowing leaked footage to control the GTA 6 conversation, Rockstar suddenly has an opportunity to replace blurry stolen clips, speculation and half-understood development footage with material it actually wants the public to examine.

TGG’s involvement also shows that Rockstar is willing to include major community creators alongside traditional gaming media when distributing early information.

For a company historically famous for communicating almost entirely on its own terms, that is an interesting shift.

When does GTA 6 release?

Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar currently lists no PC release date.

The game follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos across Vice City and the wider state of Leonida after a robbery drags the pair into a larger criminal conspiracy. Rockstar has steadily expanded the game’s official character, location and story information through its GTA 6 website, trailers and artwork.

August 27 may still provide the biggest information drop yet.

Rockstar’s own Extended Look is already enough to make the date significant. TGG and other invited creators potentially publishing additional details from a private Rockstar North presentation immediately afterward turns it into something closer to a coordinated GTA 6 preview day.

The useful question tomorrow will not be how many new details appear. There will probably be an absurd number of them.

The useful question will be which details come directly from Rockstar, which ones creators witnessed behind closed doors, and which ones the internet invents before dinner.
