Remedy Entertainment is diving into the multiplayer world with FBC: Firebreak, a co-op shooter set in the same paranormal universe as their hit game Control. The game, initially teased under the codename Project Condor, will have players team up in squads of three, facing waves of enemies with creative, bizarre weaponry. Think poison-shooting Gatling guns and aerial attack devices—basically, not your average FPS fare.
Development started back in 2021, with Remedy giving us glimpses of the game over the years, but they kept details locked down until recently. It’s set to bring a unique flavor to co-op shooters, blending Control’s supernatural weirdness with a PvE (player vs environment) focus, which honestly sounds perfect for fans of paranormal chaos and teamwork.

The studio’s experience with first-person games like CrossfireX gives them some chops in the FPS department, but the real hook here is that they’re carrying over Control’s mysterious lore and world-building. The game will be set within the confines of the Federal Bureau of Control, where you and your buddies will likely be investigating otherworldly anomalies, just like Jesse Faden did in the original.
So one of the coolest things is that Remedy has confirmed this won’t interfere with Control 2, which is still in the works. Apparently there’s a whole separate team handling the multiplayer side, so fans of the single-player narrative can breathe easy. We’re all still waiting for more gameplay footage to get a better feel for how it plays, but with FBC: Firebreak coming soon, there’s a lot of buzz around how Remedy plans to integrate their surreal, mind-bending style into a multiplayer setting.
For those who love games like Left 4 Dead or Phasmophobia, FBC: Firebreak seems like it could scratch that same itch, but with a hefty dose of Remedy’s signature strange, making it one to watch for next year. Expect weird weapons, crazier enemies, and probably some of the trippiest co-op action we’ve seen in a while. Stay tuned, because this one might surprise everyone, especially if you’re a fan of the Control universe.
