The epic class weapons from World of Warcraft Classic’s Season of Discovery are getting a shiny new role in modern retail WoW as part of the game’s 20th anniversary. These flashy transmogs will be up for grabs during the Classic Timewalking event, so if you’re into collecting those exclusive looks, you’ll want to jump in.
Season of Discovery isn’t your run-of-the-mill WoW Classic event. It throws in rune engravings to mess with your class build, revamped bosses to spice up those old raids, and even some brand-new dungeons.

And here’s a nice bonus for WoW players: a free character service just got its limits loosened for a while. Basically, you can use it as much as you want, which is a sweet deal.
Classic Weapons Meet Modern WoW
Originally exclusive to Season of Discovery, these weapons are now making their way into modern WoW through the upcoming Classic Timewalking event. For the first time in over a decade, some iconic Classic dungeons are reopening, and with them, a ton of rewards. The Timewalking vendor, Bobadormu, will have these class weapons up for grabs in cosmetic form. But there’s a catch – you’ll need Timewarped Badges to get them.
Let’s take a look at some of the Season of Discovery weapons that’ll be up for grabs:
Weapon | Type | Price in Badges |
---|---|---|
Claymore of the Knight’s Pledge | Two-Handed Sword | 2500 |
Doomwail Reaper | Polearm | 2500 |
Doomreaper’s Scythe | Staff | 2500 |
Bearded Branch of Lore | Staff | 2500 |
Gilded Drakecrest Shield | Shield | 2000 |
Farstrider’s Huntsblade | One-Handed Sword | 1500 |
Unlike their Season of Discovery versions, these cosmetic weapons aren’t restricted by class. So if you’ve got a rogue and want to swing the Hunter’s Farstrider’s Huntsblade, no one’s going to stop you. And if you’re a paladin who wants to rock the Gilded Drakecrest Shield, go ahead.
The downside? These things are expensive. One-handed weapons will set you back 1500 Timewarped Badges, shields are 2000, and those massive two-handers? 2500 each. So unless you’ve been hoarding badges for the past few expansions, good luck getting them all during the event.
Will We See This Again?
The big question: will Classic Timewalking become a regular thing, or is it a limited-time treat for the 20th anniversary? Nobody knows for sure. So if you’re eyeing those weapons, better grab them while they’re still available.
There’s more to the 20th anniversary than just weapons, too. Players can snag revamped Tier 2 sets, and even some old anniversary rewards will make a comeback. The event kicks off on October 22 on the WoW PTR, so keep an eye out for the official start date.
And that’s just the beginning of the Worldsoul Saga – an adventure through some dark subterranean worlds and a battle against the Harbinger of the Void. Yep, things are about to get intense.
